Clearwater Rowing Elite (CRE)

The Clearwater Rowing Elite (CRE) Initiative is focused on the current and future success of urban high school students. There are four components to this initiative.

(1) Academics

(2) Athletics

(3) Healthy Lifestyle Choices

(4) Community Service

These four components join together to create the best opportunity for these high school students to succeed in high school and gain admittance to accredited colleges as preparation for a successful future.

We rely heavily on sponsorship by various Role Models.  We look for Role Models who are willing to commit one day every three years to come in and be, actually BE WITH, the students.  The expected encouragement from “big names” coupled with the personal attention (autograph, rowing in the same boat, singing karaoke, sharing a meal, working out, pictures) will add to the student’s desire to succeed.  In addition, we will request a financial donation from these role models to help pay the bills to keep the program going.

Clearwater Rowing Elite (CRE) is one of the the four core initiatives of the Helen Davis Foundation. The goal of the Clearwater Rowing Elite initiative is to assist high school aged students in gaining admittance to an accredited college and to instill in these same students the desire for life-long learning, continued active fitness, establish healthy lifestyle habits, and community serivce involvement on a regular basis.
