Community Involvement Days
(second and fourth Thursday, monthly)
The second and fourth Thursdays of every month are Community Involvement Days. The Academy will arrange for a community member to come to present classes throughout the day and present to the students their livelihood, their beliefs as related to the Forum of the quarter, or any other pertinent topic of interest to the students.
The classroom that is responsible for the monthly school service project will use their classroom on Community Involvement Days to allow everyone in the school to assist in the service project they have chosen.
Faculty will not attend Community Involvement Days instead the students will be joined by teaching assistants and community volunteers. Faculty will use Community Involvement Days as planning days to better coordinate the individual instruction of the student population and to participate in Professional Development classes.
