Entire Faculty Planning Days
Approximately 20% of the days the Educators are required to report to the Academy will be used as entire staff planning days. This is essential in order to coordinate the various resources in the Academy as they relate to each student’s individual program. Because these students will be involved not only with their primary classroom instructor, but will be advancing through their interaction with other faculty members, time when all faculty members can meet to plan, adapt, and adjust each student’s individual program is necessary. Specific individualized educational plans are at the core of our philosophy for moving students forward.
The faculty will use the week prior to school, the school camping week, the social action week, testing days, and the week after school ends as entire faculty planning times. The time during the Classical Presentations will be used to make quick adjustments and progress reports for individual students which require immediate attention.
Each Educator will have daily individual planning and team planning times.
Educators are required to be on campus daily from 7:00 until 4:00. Students will be on campus in the academic setting from 8:00 until 3:00. The extra hour before and after school each day is specifically set aside for Educators to meet with individual students or family members of the individual students or to hold additional study sessions as necessary.
In addition, entire faculty planning days will be used for Professional Development Sessions so that at every point in time the staff at the Academy is exposed to and implementing the latest in educational research.
