Value Statement for Educators
As an Educator instructing at the Academy you have the following rights:
- The right to be treated with respect
- The right to make innocent, unintentional mistakes without reprimand
- The right to maintain your own opinions and convictions, and when necessary to change your mind without outside judgment
- The right to grow and develop in an environment which does not criticize, humiliate, intimidate or belittle
- The right to take responsibility for only your own problems or inappropriate behavior
- The right to present a challenging curriculum in a logical, understandable format on a level of instruction consistent with your students' current skills and method of learning as supported with educational testing and research
- The right to have your accomplishments noted publicly
- The right to provide your instruction in a drug-free, safe, welcoming environment
- The right to speak up for yourself and not have your actions judged without an inquiry into the facts on both sides
- The right to adequate time for planning your students’ curriculum, corroborative teaching, and professional development which enhances your professional skills
- The right to utilize your professional skills in the teaching and learning process rather than being bogged down and loaded with non-teaching responsibilities such as recess duty, lunch duty, cutting out designs for bulletin boards, etc.

As a Teaching Institution we strive to foster creative, critical, logical Educators who exploit their unique talents in original ways to become active, self-sufficient, contributing respectful members of society living positive values on their journey of life-long learning and are well prepared and do equip the students entrusted to their care with these same attributes.
