Value Statement for Students

As a student attending the Academy you have the following rights:

              • The right to be treated with respect
              • The right to make innocent, unintentional mistakes without reprimand
              • The right to maintain your own opinions and convictions, and when necessary to change your mind without outside judgment
              • The right to grow and develop in an environment which does not criticize, intimidate, humiliate or belittle
              • The right to take responsibility for only your own problems or inappropriate behavior
              • The right to a challenging education presented in a logical, understandable format on a level of instruction consistent with your current skills and method of learning
              • The right to have your accomplishments noted publicly
              • The right to receive your education in a drug-free, safe, welcoming environment
              • The right to grow as an individual without taking on adult responsibilities and stresses
              • The right to speak up for yourself and not have your actions judged without an inquiry into the facts on both sides
